High quality products
since 1925
Hartz Pickles & Salads has produced pickles since 1925
and various kinds of salads since 1936. In 1988 we started producing
dressings, which today makes up almost half of our production
capacity. We supply the catering sector consisting of wholesellers
supplying a variety of professional kitchens. In addition we supply
restaurants, hospitals, sandwich producers, delicatessens etc.
The company is situated in the center of Copenhagen next to the
area known as "Meat Town", which today has become a modern commercial
center for meatproduction and -wholesale. We supply mainly customers
in and around Copenhagen, but also the rest of Denmark as well
as the south of Sweden.
The Products
We produce approx. 45 different kinds of products covering mayonnaise,
salads, relishes, dressings, sandwich fillings, sauces and desserts.
The salads - our main field of expertise - are mostly based on
mayonnaise or various kinds of diary products. The filling content
can be anything from shrimps to ham or chicken, vegetables or
fruits. These products are selected specificly for the famous
danish lunch buffet and open sandwiches.
History
The company was founded as a pickles factory in 1925 by an englishman
named Hartz. At that time the only products were pickles and english
sauce. The grandfather of the current owner started the salad
production in 1936. During recent years the facilities have been
rebuilt and expanded bringing the company up front concerning
everything from hygienic standards to production efficiency. The
production capacity exeeds 6 tons a day during peak periods.
